OPPORTUNITY
Our client is an industry leader in the building products manufacturing & distribution space with over 125 locations across 30 states. This role is based in the greater Denver area and will oversee corporate accounting functions for multiple divisions within the organization.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Lead financial reporting operations for multiple operating companies within the enterprise. This will include overseeing regular close cycles, ensuring balance sheets are accurate, and reviewing P&L statements.
- Review complex journal entries (accruals, amortizations, payroll, intercompany entries, etc.)
- Work cross-functionally with leaders of other business lines to ensure accounting and financial reporting needs are being met on a consistent basis.
- Assist with training, development, and management of junior team members to ensure job satisfaction, career mobility, and adequate performance based on business goals.
- Assist with the development of accounting and financial reporting policies and procedures, offering support on process improvement initiatives when requested.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 years of accounting experience, public accounting preferred but not required
- Track record of success assisting with financial reporting and/or analytics functions of an accounting team
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles with the ability to perform research as requested
- Ability to stay on top of new accounting and industry regulations and best practices
- Detail oriented team player with the ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the year
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a full-time direct-hire position with benefits including basic health and life insurance, a 401k retirement program, PTO program, EAP programs, community service benefits, employee development programs, and an expected compensation range of $75,000-$95,000/year depending on relevant work experience, qualifications, and other factors such as specific industry knowledge.
