Business Technology Integrators (BTI), Government Contracting Company located in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking experienced Lead Move Technicians in support of VA Relocations Services.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Move Technician to oversee the pickup, delivery, packing, unpacking, and physical relocation of sensitive equipment. This role requires expertise in handling and transporting Government equipment, ensuring zero damage to assets and facilities. The Lead Move Technician will also be responsible for managing a team of movers, ensuring adherence to the move plan and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in the safe handling, pickup, and delivery of sensitive equipment within Government and commercial facilities.
- Pack and unpack equipment, ensuring proper handling, organization, and protection during transit.
- Execute and oversee physical moves of equipment, ensuring a seamless transition from facilities to trucks and final destinations.
- Ensure no damage occurs to Government equipment, property, or facilities during transport.
- Lead and manage a team of movers, assigning tasks and ensuring compliance with the move plan and safety procedures.
- Communicate with project managers, drivers, and other stakeholders to synchronize move schedules and resolve any logistical issues.
- Conduct pre-move assessments to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and equipment damage.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
- 3 years of experience in moving, logistics, or equipment handling, preferably within Government or sensitive environments.
- Leadership experience in managing move teams and coordinating logistics.
- Strong knowledge of packing, unpacking, and transportation best practices for sensitive equipment.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail to prevent damage and ensure smooth transitions.
- Experience in Government or military move operations.
- Certification in equipment handling, logistics, or warehouse management.
- Familiarity with Federal and Government regulations for sensitive equipment transportation.
