Job Description :
BU Wellness Network is seeking an innovative, organized, and flexible individual to join our team as an HIV Prevention Specialist. The Specialist will have an important role in identifying individuals who might have risks for contracting HIV and engaging them in HIV/STI screening services, prevention programs and other essential support services.
Responsibilities:
- Provides culturally appropriate HIV testing and counseling services.
- Provides clients with referrals to necessary community resources.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with community partners.
- Represent BU Wellness Network at testing and outreach events.
- Responsible for community presentations and peer education on HIV and sexual health.
- Responsible for coordinating programs that are geared towards sexual health and prevention.
- Responsible for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Subject matter expert required per our priority populations; with emphasis on: Black Transgender and Same-gender-loving Men
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to work non-conventional hours (some evenings and weekends required)
- Certified in HIV 101/HIV testing and counseling (training provided)
- Valid Driver's License
