Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring a smooth operation within our facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in laboratory procedures and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient intake.
• Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Conduct blood sampling and other laboratory techniques as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of medical history.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and providing comfort.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medical office or clinic environment.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

Requirements

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
• Experience with laboratory procedures, including specimen collection processing.
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques and blood sampling methods.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant or relevant training is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
