We are currently seeking a mid-level associate to support our Chicago Office's Construction Law Practice Group. The ideal candidate will possess 2 years of recent business litigation experience, some exposure to construction law, and will have an engineering or technical background. The candidate also should have experience with the investigation, management, and discovery of large collections of documents and data files and electronic discovery. In addition, candidates should also be licensed to practice in Illinois, have strong writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
Experience with anticipated assignments would be valuable and include: commercial construction litigation, delay and impact claims, mechanics lien claims, construction surety bond claims, negotiating and drafting of design and construction agreements, construction defect claims, insurance coverage relative to construction claims, and representation of design professionals. Deposition experience, pretrial experience, trial experience and a technical background in design or construction would also be favorably reviewed.

Pay Scale: The reasonably expected pay scale for this position is $130-$200k, with bonus potential of up to $80,000. This is an employer estimate and the salary offered within that range, and the potential for bonus and bonus amount, will depend on candidate’s years of practice and experience and performance.
