GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Educator provides staff development expertise as an educator, facilitator and change agent. Supports the development of the bedside caregiver fostering empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced based caregiver practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the Clinical Educator is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within BCHC to meet the needs of the diverse units within BCHC.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate a school of Nursing with a valid state of Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BSN required, MSN preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support required.
- ACLS, BLS and PALS certification preferred, but not required.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous work experiences as a Clinical Educator/Instructor preferred.
- Requires 3 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in a health-related field or as a Clinical Educator/Instructor.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate self-confidence and a positive attitude toward self and others.
- Maintains commitment and enthusiasm to achieve goals.
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication through various modes.
- Ability to display organization skills to handle multiple priorities.
Salary Range
$38.58 - $50.36
