Corporate Finance Practice Assistant
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is a national law firm with a proven reputation for providing progressive, industry-leading legal, business, regulatory and government relations advice to our regional, national and international clients.
We are currently searching for a Corporate Finance Practice Assistant for our Tampa office.
The Firm is currently on a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be asked to report to the office 3 days per week and have the ability to work from home 2 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration within a group and individually to ensure that clients are satisfied, includes the desire to understand client concerns and build trust.
- Hardcopy and electronic file and records maintenance.
- Manage busy calendars and monitor transactions and deadlines.
- Transaction document assembly, including organization of various document versions.
- Collaborate with various firm-wide departments in the handling of various responsibilities, including new client file opening, conflicts checks, billing, training, records, etc.
- Draft, format and proofread correspondence and other legal documents.
- Track firm, attorney, and client expenses and use an application software to process reimbursements and payments.
- Apply working knowledge of the processes frequently associated with corporate and transactional practices.
Required Education/Experience:
- Must have a minimum of five years of law firm administrative experience, preferably as a legal assistant
- Knowledge of corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and/or debt financing preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through required
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and time constraints
- Ability to effectively balance assignments and workflow from multiple attorneys
- Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, NetDocs and other computer and word processing systems
