SUMMARY

The Warranty Clerk is responsible for interacting with customers in person, over the telephone or via email with regards to Buck’s Forever Warranty, including deciding whether to repair or replace a customer’s knife all while providing excellent customer service. Provides customers with knife status and answers questions from customers and dealers about Buck Knives. Open availability Monday thru Saturday. Three required overtime sales events per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following-

  • Supports the company objectives by providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Answer customer questions in a timely manner, in person or on the telephone, checking all messages and returning calls when needed.
  • Assist in resolving customer complaints in a timely manner, escalating to Customer Service Supervisor as needed.
  • Thoroughly and efficiently gather customer information, access and fulfill customer needs, educate the customer when applicable and document transactions.
  • Provides the Shipping Department with customers’ packages to be sent out per the requested method (UPS, Parcel Post, Insured Mail etc.), including correspondence, repaired and replaced knives.
  • Processes cash, debit and credit card sale transactions.
  • Perform backup front desk/receptionist, store clerk duties as needed.
  • Ability to handle sharp knives and other items continuously throughout the shift.
  • Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • All other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
  • Ability to respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to learn and retain information, such as product descriptions and factory tour scripts.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills, such as addition and subtraction; ability to calculate sale prices based on discount percentage.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to sharp objects (knives). The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild.
