Production Line Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
While possessing a comprehensive understanding of maintenance and repair principles, the technician will work independently (80%) or with others (20%) to perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled duties in the areas of pneumatics, electrical, electronics, control, and instrumentation.
Essential Functions
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on production weld line equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
Understands basic welding theory and the ability to apply that knowledge to practical application.
Uses hand tools and basic shop tools to support essential functions.
Repairs pneumatics, low voltage electrical, and mechanical fixturing.
Uses HMI to start, stop, and control system to verify proper operations. Evaluate sensor operation from point of operation to PLC (Programable Logic Control).
Uses reference materials to troubleshoot and correct equipment problems. Documents work performed including preventative and corrective maintenance issues.
Complies with established safety, health, and environmental policies. Adheres to company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Gains assistance from maintenance technicians as required.
Reports to a supervisor and works under the direction of senior personnel of the functional area.
Qualifications
Job Specifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires 3 years of related experience or documented additional course work/ training.
Must have the ability to:
occasionally lift fifty pounds unassisted
hear and respond quickly to alarms.
walk, stand, sit, bend, or kneel to access equipment for repair.
manual dexterity and coordination to manage large and small machine parts.
normal or corrected vision with good depth perception and no color blindness
work in non-climate-controlled areas.
wear protective gear such as safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, dust mask, etc.
Able to work a changing shift schedule and on weekends.
