Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve firefighting foam formulations to enhance performance and environmental sustainability.
- Evaluate raw materials and surfactants to optimize foam expansion, drain time, and suppression effectiveness.
- Conduct performance testing to ensure compliance with UL, NFPA, ICAO, and MIL-SPEC standards.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies and certification bodies to maintain approvals and listings.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to monitor production consistency and troubleshoot any formulation issues.
- Oversee foam testing procedures in laboratory and field environments.
- Provide technical support to customers, distributors, and sales teams regarding foam applications and compatibility.
- Assist in conducting live fire tests and demonstrations for customers and regulatory agencies.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in fire suppression.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in firefighting foam development, testing, or application.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of foam chemistry, surfactants, and fire suppression mechanisms.
- Familiarity with UL 162, NFPA 11, ICAO, and MIL-SPEC foam performance requirements.
- Ability to conduct hands-on lab and field testing.
- Knowledge of fire testing methods and equipment.
- Familiarity with fire protection systems and foam proportioning equipment.
