POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safety and well-being of members in the Wellness Center. Provides quality experience to all members focused around the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Represent the MCFYMCA by utilizing tools and information to increase member knowledge of fitness as well as other programs provided through the YMCA.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention through a proactive approach.
- Provide assistance/guidance to all members in the fitness areas..
- Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the Wellness Center.
- Serve as a positive role model to members and provide tours to potential members.
- Demonstrate leadership essential to implement the policies and procedures of the Wellness Center.
- Check and refill sanitation supplies.
- Perform preventative maintenance as required. Report equipment maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Schedule and conduct equipment orientations. Answer general questions regarding fitness center equipment.
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely records including but not limited to accident/incident reports.
- Assist Health & Wellness Director in daily activities and special events.
- Attend all trainings and staff meetings.
Child Protection Responsibilities:
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Participates in required abuse risk management training.
- Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High school diploma or equivalent, and have 1-3 years related experience or training.
- General knowledge fitness equipment and its uses.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
- Previous demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
