JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of the Parks and Recreation team, reporting directly to the Recreation Supervisor- Fitness & Wellness,
assists customers and ensures efficient operations of the fitness spaces of the Bob Crane Community Center.
This is a part-time role which will generally work within normal operating hours with shifts starting as early as
5:00am or as late as 10:15pm.

1. Foster a welcoming atmosphere for all participants using the fitness spaces by providing quality
customer service.
2. Provide feedback and general use guidelines to users on all fitness equipment in the facility, while
avoiding specific exercise prescription to participants that would be most appropriate for the
participant’s healthcare professional (s) to recommend and prescribe.
3. Demonstrate and instruct patrons in proper use of the fitness equipment through group and individual
orientations.
4. Enforce all fitness and building policies and procedures.
5. Ensure all patrons are using fitness equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
6. Keep all facilities and fitness equipment clean and ready for use by participants. This includes cleaning
and light maintenance of fitness equipment, racking and organizing weights, and setting up and tearing
down classrooms for programs and groups.
7. Provide general first aid and respond to emergencies in cases of participants injury or illness. Initiate
building emergency actions plans and fill out appropriate accident reports when needed.
8. Assist with opening and closing procedures of the community center.
9. Assist with community center programs as needed.
10. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
11. Performs other duties as required. (5%)QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience in a health and wellness/fitness setting is preferred.
• Must be at least 16 years of age;
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• CPR certification and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within first 30 days of employment);KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (* indicates developed after employment).
Knowledge of:
