Accounts Receivable & Collections Associate – Fintech | Downtown Chicago

A growing Fintech company in downtown Chicago is seeking an Accounts Receivable & Collections Associate to manage billing, collections, and customer accounts. This role is essential in ensuring timely payments, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting financial operations in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the accounts receivable (AR) process, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely collections.
- Follow up with clients on outstanding payments, resolving disputes professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor aging reports, proactively addressing past-due accounts to improve cash flow.
- Work closely with the finance and customer success teams to address billing discrepancies and resolve payment issues.
- Maintain detailed records of collections activities, payment agreements, and client communications.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency in collections and AR reporting.
- Support month-end closing activities related to AR, cash applications, and reconciliations.
- Assist in implementing automated AR systems to streamline invoicing and collection efforts.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or billing, preferably in a Fintech, SaaS, or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of invoicing, payment processing, and collections best practices.
- Proficiency in AR software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to handle client interactions professionally.
- Ability to analyze aging reports, track payment trends, and recommend improvements.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus.
