Summary
The Senior Construction Project Manager will lead, manage, and drive Buckle’s construction development objectives in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Operations and Store Construction. This teammate will directly manage new store construction projects, store remodels, and additional construction initiatives as well as lead Construction Project Managers responsible for their own projects. This leader will cultivate an environment of ownership, accountability, and teamwork within the Operations Team. This role will require a high level of organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills to successfully manage competing priorities and ensure overall project and team success.

Project Management and Execution:
- Lead RFP and bid comparison processes for general contractors in collaboration with department leadership.
- Review architectural drawings, develop project phasing plans, perform material takeoffs, and develop detailed construction plans, including timelines, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Organize and lead weekly owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings, set project expectations, and monitor contractor deliverables.
- Oversee project changes and repair requests and manage final closeout processes, including change order reviews and chargeback records.
- Simultaneously manage 6–7 construction projects from initial planning through store opening.
- Travel to project sites for surveys, inspections, and on-site support.
Quality Control and Problem Solving:
- Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and vendors to resolve construction challenges and improve methods.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for architects, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and provide updates to leadership on timelines, challenges, and resource needs.
- Liaise with public officials and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Leadership:
- Provide expert guidance to team members to address and resolve construction-related challenges at retail store locations efficiently.
- Lead Construction Project Managers and general contractors, ensuring seamless coordination across all phases of construction to minimize delays and meet project objectives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team environment by supporting Buckle’s mission and delivering outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Teammates in the Operations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Teammates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Teammates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and seven or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred. Retail construction experience is preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the Teammate is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Teammate is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Teammate must be comfortable working at heights on a multilevel mezzanine and have the ability to climb multi-level of stairs on a daily basis. Also regularly required to bend, twist and turn at waist. The Teammate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The ability to travel by flight or motor vehicle including overnight stays. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for up to 6 hours.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office or store setting. There may be times when travelling to stores is required and the possibility of exposure to dust and odors. This Teammate will occasionally be on site during the pre and post-build phases of each project. The Teammate is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
