Summary
The Senior Technical Business Analyst will be a key contributor to the planning and implementation of IT programs and IT projects. The Senior Technical Business Analyst requires proficient communication skills to work with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences. The position requires the ability to successfully partner with executive, strategy, development, and administrative groups to make progress on enterprise IT initiatives. Work within Project teams of Project Managers and Quality Analysts to support IT and other departments such as Finance, HR, Marketing, Merchandising, and Sales.
The Senior Technical Business Analyst is responsible for working with technical and non-technical teams to identify, define and document business processes, requirements, and use cases to be developed as software. They serve as a liaison between vendors, the business and IT teams by facilitating communication and determining software objectives that align with stated and unstated business needs.

Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering
- Work with leadership and business units to understand business needs, elicit requirements/use cases and use creative problem solving to help identify and develop simple and effective solutions.
- Research feasibility of requests and help determine priorities based on effort and impact.
- Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements/use cases accordingly.
- Translate conceptual user requirements/use cases into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements/use cases.
- Manage requirements/use case scoping throughout the delivery process.
- Create artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, vendor evaluations including RFI/RFP documents, industry analysis, scope documentation, process flows, and mockups.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation approaches that will allow progress despite deviation from defined solutions.
- Work with business units to define and document current and future processes and models to understand and address inefficiencies or gaps.
- Identify and assist in prioritizing opportunities to streamline business processes.
Technical Leadership
- Coordinate and serve as subject matter expert between technical teams across areas of specialization such as POS (Point-of-Sale), Digital Commerce, Payment(s), Taxes, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Finance, Merchandising, and Human Resources.
- Develop and utilize deep domain knowledge and understanding of business processes for both guest facing and backend supporting processes -across all channels to identify appropriate solution options and build high-quality requirements/use cases.
- Work with technical teams to bring process and data into alignment for systems.
- Support technical teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions.
- Review technical team output to ensure requirements/use cases are correctly interpreted; help define and execute test cases when needed.
- Work with data sources to analyze information and propose solutions.
Collaborative Responsibilities
- Proficiently communicate through cross-matrix organizational structure in supporting Corporate and Store teams.
- Acting as a vendor liaison work with vendors on business needs to configure and develop features, functionality, and programs.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement (RFP) process end-to-end, making presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with leadership.
- Create training plans and facilitate training sessions for various departments.
- Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but provides direction to the Technical Business Analysts.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
