We are seeking an Aquatics and AV Supervisor to join our Camp Buckner team committed to delivering an outstanding guest experience. As an Aquatics and AV Supervisor, you will play an important role as the primary host for retreat guests, ensuring exceptional hospitality and promptly addressing their needs throughout their stay. What You'll Do
- Supervise lifeguards, ensuring certifications and training are current and appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of aquatic facilities and equipment, promptly addressing issues and documenting compliance with health and safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain the chemical balance and cleanliness of the swimming pool, conducting routine water quality tests and adjusting chemical levels as needed to meet safety regulations.
- Set up, monitor, and assist guests with the usage of AV equipment, providing technical support during events to ensure seamless operation.
- Train and oversee staff in the proper use of AV systems and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment.
- Welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring room assignments are accurate and their needs are met throughout their stay.
- Provide continuous support to retreat leaders and guests, addressing any concerns and ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Assist with the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of meeting facilities to meet guest requirements, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Act as a positive role model and uphold the organization's values during all interactions.
- Lead and mentor PRN and seasonal staff in hosting duties, including guest services, facility preparation, banquet services, and activity facilitation.
- Deliver and assist with safety training for aquatic and AV operations, ensuring all staff are equipped to provide high-quality and safe experiences.
- Facilitate challenge courses, archery ranges, or lifeguarding duties as required, within the scope of your training.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- High School Diploma (or G.E.D.).
- A current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain certifications as a Certified Pool Operator from a Nationally Recognized Certification Program.
- A current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain certifications in Lifeguarding and Waterfront Skills from a Nationally Recognized Certification Program to the Certified Trainer level.
- A current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers and Responding to Emergencies: First Aid from a Nationally Recognized Certification Program.
- A current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain a Level 1 challenge course certification from an ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) accredited vendor.
- A current certification or the willingness to obtain and maintain an Archery Instructor Training: Level 1 Certification provided by a certified trainer from USA Archery and the National Field Archery Association.
- Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and /or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
- Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner's insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
