We are seeking a Security Analyst / Desktop Support Technician to join our community committed to delivering outstanding IT services to our employees. As a Security Analyst / Desktop Support Technician , you will play an important role as the first point of contact for users seeking technical support. What you'll do :
- Receive desktop service requests by phone, email, or self-service portals. Prioritize requests based on urgency and users' needs. Escalate issues to Sr Desktop Support Analyst or other IS team members as needed.
- Identify and diagnose desktop issues and provide solutions :
Use diagnostic tools and technical know-how to identify the root cause of a problem.
Provide installation / move / add / change (Windows) services for new and upgraded hardware and software.Provide break / fix hardware maintenance for computers, printers, scanners, and peripheral computer equipment.Add, change, and delete user access / user accounts in MS Active Directory and relevant application software; maintain access across SharePoint, file shares, and other technologies.Identify and remediate basic operating issues related to hardware (including printers and copiers), software, operating systems, and networks.Record all issues including the user's request, the solution, and any follow-up actions in the IS Ticketing Software.Provision laptops and desktops for assigned region and projects. Decommission / repurpose returned equipment and log in asset management system.Complete onsite visits to Buckner facilities as required for providing support; typically, two days a week at The Stayton Ft. Worth and two days a week at the Support Center Dallas with other locations on demand. This schedule is subject to change.Identify and analyze trends and identify and recommend ways to prevent future problems.Review and monitor security management tools :Perform periodic reviews of endpoint security compliance, ensuring security related software is installed and active on all endpoints. Ensure endpoint compliance for OS updates.
Perform ongoing monitoring of multiple security management tools.Respond to and remediate of security messages and issues :Perform remediation of endpoints that are out of compliance for required security software.
Determine safety and responding to Blocked / Held e-mail messages on Buckner e-mail security systems.Determine safety and responding to Blocked website requests from end users.Assist with responding and determination for security related alarms from EDR software installed on endpoint such as SentinelOne.Remediate endpoint OS update failures and missing OS updates.Assist with out of band emergency software / OS patching of endpoints.Assist with cybersecurity event investigations and remediations.Document and report cybersecurity policy lapses, failures, or violations. Assist with cybersecurity policy making and enforcement.Assist with cybersecurity implementation projects.Assist with end user cybersecurity training.Attend monthly cybersecurity meetings with vCISO partners.Communicate with users to ensure their requests are resolved and that they are satisfied.Work successfully as a part of a team and responsible for developing, then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers. Requires ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external customers, vendors, and a variety of individuals, groups, and public.Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.What you'll bring :
Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or a related field required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.Professional certifications such as HDI Desktop Support Technician or CompTIA A or MCSA along with formal training from Cisco, Google, or Microsoft can be substituted for some college coursework.Formal security training and certification is a strong plus.Requires in-depth understanding of desktop and mobile computer operations and support processes and basic understanding of network communications.Requires proficiency in Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office suite and Office365, multiple web browser software, and Outlook / Exchange.Requires a basic or better understanding of information technology security tools and practices.Requires the ability to quickly assess a situation, prioritize the issue against other work, and develop a solution. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.Need to be able to communicate clearly with users and explain technical issues in a way that's easy to understand.Requires ability to consistently demonstrate excellence in customer service to both internal and external customers.Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.Requires ability to work under pressure and remain flexible as priorities change; ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing and speak in front of groups. Requires organizational skills needed to provide attention to detail and maintain routines.Requires ability to work under minimal supervision, exercise excellent professional judgment.Requires ability to travel to various geographic locations with some overnight stays.
