What are the responsibilities and job description for the HealthCare Sales Counselor position at Buckner Retirement Services?
We are seeking a Health Care Sales Counselor to join our community committed to interacting with all leads using professional selling skills. Perform general and specific marketing and admissions duties and activities directed to secure admissions and increase occupancy to the community in the shortest realistic time frame; Serves as a public relations liaison to the community. . As a H, you will play an important role in all phases of food preparation that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. What you'll do:
- Effectively communicate community retirement programs; increase sales to meet established goals and prospect lead base by using a variety of contacts to include but not limited to: community outreach programs, Buckner Retirement Services residents, in-house events and seminars, and other community programs.
- Conduct community tours for future residents and other visitors; communicate with appropriate team members to assist with community openings and transfer needs within Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Nursing Areas.
- Respond, receive and make telephone calls to community inquiries, providing information, and scheduling appointments with future residents and/or their families. Conduct appointments on a flexible schedule, often meeting prospects outside regular business hours that are convenient for them. Conduct home visits to prospects as needed.
- Complete, review, and obtain appropriate signatures and process admissions documents accurately and completely in accordance with company policies and procedures; oversee, monitor and expedite the complete move-in process.
- Communicates and coordinates with all departments regarding move-ins, move-outs, and transitions through various means including attendance to administrative meetings with healthcare team and other department directors for admissions meetings, transition team meetings and other administrative groups as requested.
- Coordinate with maintenance and environmental services departments regarding make ready conditions, upgrade requirements, and other refurbishment needs to expedite sales and move-ins.
- Utilizes and owns the company CRM system for lead information and reporting.
- Assist with special events for prospects, new residents and community organizations on-site.
- Assist with outreach visits to area resources that will provide immediate and future sales for the community; develop and maintain referral database from area resources (healthcare only) and residents; develop and maintain monthly contact with these referral sources
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, or other related field of study preferred. A minimum of 1-3 years prior related experience with hospital or retirement community marketing, sales, and/or admissions required.
- A strong desire to work and serve seniors. Empathy and emotional intelligence are required.
- Requires high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Recent computer training or computer experience preferred. Word processing and spreadsheet experience required. Excellent aptitude for using other office equipment such as copy machines, fax machines, typewriters, and calculators.
- Requires job holder to work nights and weekends as needed to meet business needs.
- Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English professionally.
- Requires a strong sense of diplomacy and demonstrated success in developing strong collaborative relationships with organizational peers and outside colleagues. Requires ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings.

- Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects.
- Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift.
