What are the responsibilities and job description for the Budtender position at Bud Barn?
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serving every customer with top notch customer service and product knowledge.
- Smiling and promptly greeting all customers and welcoming them to BudBarn.
- Cash handling/register use.
- Determining each customer’s need and answers questions concerning strains and products. If necessary, partnering with Shift Leads to ensure the customer has a good experience.
- Recommending additional and complementary products and/or strains based on the information provided by the customer or item already selected for purchase.
- Helping to eliminate and/or reduce potential theft of product by attention to detail.
- Ensuring that the correct price, product, tax and/or discounts are applied correctly to each sale.
- Working weekends and some holidays.
- Taking initiative to stay informed on new or existing products and is knowledgeable about their ingredients and potential benefits to better serve customers.
- Assisting in the packaging and labeling of cannabis products.
- Other tasks as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements & Preferences:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 1 year of experience in retail, restaurant, or service-related environments. Cannabis related preferred but not necessary.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license or identification and have reliable transportation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math and computer skills including Microsoft office and Google Docs.
- Open availability including nights, weekends and some holidays.
- Ability to work and thrive in a very fast paced, high transaction volume, team environment.
- Poses good organizational and decision-making skills.
- Analytical, detail oriented and proactive.
- Desire to improve skill set and willingness to learn and take feedback and coaching.
- Continuous mobility through the dispensary daily including but not limited to standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching throughout the shift. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
