Job Summary:
The Budtender will provide superior customer service and educational guidance to registered customers. The Budtender will record sales in the POS system, and handle cash and cashless ATM transactions. The Budtender must maintain an organized environment and facility appearance. Reports directly to the Retail Manager / Retail Assistant Manager / Retail Lead. Operates with direct supervision from General Manager, Retail Manager, Assistant Manager, and Retail Lead. Follows established policies and procedures, contributes to the development of new concepts, policies, and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they enter the dispensary. Provide orientations and tours for first-time customers per store training and guidelines.
· Assist in start of day and end of day procedures, stock products and supplies, arrange displays, open and close register, etc.
· Budtenders will be responsible for their own cash drawer throughout their shift.
· Communicate with Retail Manager, Retail Assistant Manager, and Retail Lead to maintain customer traffic flow, minimize wait times, and maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
· Maintain organization of dispensary room through daily upkeep and light cleaning.
· Always maintain cleanliness of Budtender Station and Retail Floor. You are required to clean up after the end of your shift. Areas include, but not limited to, entry vestibule, waiting room, sales floor, exit vestibule, behind retail counter, outside (trash pickup), etc.
· Double check order that was fulfilled by fulfillment. Reiterate order back to customer to confirm contents of their order are correct.
· Ensure that payment is counted accurately. Reiterate cash back to customer.
· Perform daily cash drops while ensuring your till is accurate throughout your shift.
· Maintain knowledge of all products and services provided, as well as applicable state and local laws.
· Educate customers on options and methods, strain information, effectiveness for specific ailments and cultivation methods. Provide educational materials and resources for customers as needed.
· Maintain awareness of customer input and suggest changes to improve service or product.
· Ensure accurate information is recorded for all customer registration, sales and preferences.
· Fulfillment to communicate inventory levels with front of house.
· Check-In/Coordinate with the Retail Manager, Retail Assistant Manager, Retail Lead as needed.
· Maintain a continuous state of alertness to ensure the highest standards of safety for fellow employees, products, and the facility.
· Stay informed and knowledgeable about state and local laws, and industry news.
· Follow-up with customers about specific product or service requests.
· Assist management in product inventory and/or adjustments.
· Participate in discussions and provide suggestions for improving product availability, customer satisfaction and/or policies and procedures.
· Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- 2 years retail and/or customer service experience required
- Cannabis experience preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have the ability to pass a background check.
- Experience in a sales environment preferred.
- Accurate data-entry and record keeping.
- Ability to answer multi-phone line system.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
- Proficiency in windows-based software, Point-of-Sale software and Internet navigation.
- Ability to make decisions as necessary with oversight when needed.
- Regulations and Inventory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
