Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Landscape Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the grounds of our facilities, ensuring they look their best at all times. This is an entry-level position that requires a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn the ins and outs of lawn care and groundskeeping.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of tasks to maintain the grounds, including mowing, edging, and trimming lawns.
- Operate and maintain power tools, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers, as well as hand tools, like rakes and shovels.
- Assist in the planting, pruning, and removal of trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Maintain the cleanliness of walkways, driveways, and other areas by sweeping, blowing, and cleaning up debris.
- Use mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as sharpening blades and replacing worn parts.
- Assist in the upkeep of the landscape, including fertilizing, mulching, and controlling weeds.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, following instructions and completing tasks to meet deadlines.
Experience:
- Previous experience in lawn care, groundskeeping, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, bend, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools is essential.
- Familiarity with gardening and landscaping practices is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills:
- Proficiency in the use of lawn mowers, hand tools, and power tools.
- Experience in maintaining a garden or yard.
- Ability to maintain a lawn and control weeds.
- Knowledge of tree care and pruning practices.
- Familiarity with groundskeeping practices and techniques.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
