In Short:
The Purchaser is responsible for the purchasing, tracking and analysis of materials, equipment, maintenance and supplies in the organization. A large emphasis of this role is sourcing to ensure cost, quality and on-time delivery.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Negotiate contracts for goods, services, supplies, equipment, maintenance and repair parts; ensuring costs, quality and on-time delivery
- Investigate and resolve supplier material related quality issues and source alternative materials, as necessary
- Develop and monitor supplier consolidation, cost reduction and inventory reduction programs.
- Develop and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels of purchased products
- Responsible for PO lifecycle from PO issuance to vendor payment
- Maintain purchased stone inventory to meet on time customer delivery
- Order non-inventoried stone for customer orders as needed and communicate with sales reps on expected delivery date
- Work cross functionally with various departments to assist in their procurement needs
- Conduct annual review with key suppliers - reviewing supplier reliability, risk mitigation, financial stability and supplier capacity.
- Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and receipt of competitive pricing
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Preferred)
- 4 years of Industrial Purchasing Experience (Preferred)
