Feed Merchandiser & Purchaser
We are looking for a passionate person to join the CP Feeds, LLC team as a Feed Ingredient Merchandiser & Purchaser. This is an exciting position that gets to work directly with dairy farms, nutrition teams and feed manufacturing to forecast, procure, and supply feed ingredients for farms that will be manufactured at CP Feeds feed mill facilities or on the farms to supply high quality animal nutrition. CP Feeds is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Country Visions Cooperative.
This position is in-person and reports directly to the Feed General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiate purchases and sale agreements of agricultural commodities and branded feed products to maximize company profitability in accordance with company guidelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor market trends, weather patterns and other factors to make informed trading decisions.
- Ability to use data to forecast supply and demand of feed ingredients that represent trading opportunities
- Learn and understand the Quality Control process as part of an overall Food Safety Plan
- Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, accounting, customer service and quality teams to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction
- Attend events and conferences to interact with customers and prospects
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, Animal Science, or Feed Manufacturing or at least 5 years of experience purchasing, sourcing and/or merchandising feed ingredients: Dairy experience preferred
- A strong set of experience skills and established relationships in the dairy, feed, and grain industries
- Positive, self-motivated individual with strong organization, communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of feed ingredient markets, logistics, and supply chain
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and with a team
- Willingness to travel as needed to develop and maintain relationships with customers
