What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dining Room Supervisor position at Buena Vida Estates?
The Dining Room Assistant Supervisor ensures that residents and guests have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. Ensuring that appearance, setup, maintenance, cleanliness and safety of dining areas are maintained. Assist in supervising and training of dining room staff to our standards of excellence; while coordinating food service between the kitchen and dining staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise all dining room staff.
- Takes control of the dining room staff when Dining Room Manager is not present and/or vacation.
- Answer phone calls and take reservations.
- Responsible for assisting in making server’s schedule.
- Receives and resolves complaints concerning dining room service.
- Make recommendations with respect to staff evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Provide an excellent overall dining experience for our guests.
- Make sure that all Dining Room areas are neat and tidy at all times. All non-essential items or equipment that are not being used or saved be discarded or repurposed. This includes any part of the Dining Room that is not being presently in use.
- That all personnel have daily assignments during off-peak hours to make sure that the dining room is clean and organized.
- Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
- Helping out with other positions in the dining room as needed.
- Takes a section of tables in the Dining Room when needed.
- Make sure all equipment is in good working order, report broken equipment immediately to manager for repair.
- Active listening and effective communication skills.
- Report to work on time and in proper uniform. This includes name tag.
- Must complete all assigned educational training in the first 90 days of employment, and the first 90 days of a new calendar year in a timely manner.
- Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with everyone
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Strong Supervisory/Management skills.
- Positive / Can do attitude.
- Ability to train and mentor first time employees.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within supervision.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- High school diploma or GED required
