Buffalo Medical Group is seeking a self-starting HR subject matter expert accountable for delivering all facets of talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and training & development in a high functioning, fast-paced HR department. As a strategic partner with operations leaders, the HR Generalist will inspire confidence and proactively make recommendations and provide creative solutions to assist various departments with achieving their goals and ensuring compliance, in addition to being a resource to employees.
Our downtown location at 85 High Street is located in the heart of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Parking is onsite in patient lot. No charge to employees for parking.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for the success of HR processes through the entire employee lifecycle: requisition, job posting, applicant screening, interviews, reference checks, extending employment offers, conducting new hire orientation/set up, onboarding, exit interviews, unemployment etc.
· Partners with supervisors/Group leaders to develop and execute recruiting strategies, which may include updating job descriptions and making recommendations for adjustments on wage scale based on market trends.
· Responsible for acquiring multiple qualified candidates for each vacancy, using a variety of the most effective and contemporary recruitment methods, in order to attract career-minded professionals and minimize turnover.
· Must be an HR subject matter expert and remain current with legal updates/ trends, and will modify the Group’s handbook and policies accordingly
· Advisor to supervisors/Group leaders on Group policies, laws, regulations, past precedence, and best practices relating to a variety employment matters. Able to interpret and apply laws when developing creative strategies and solutions for employment challenges
· Responsible for minimizing risk and ensuring legal compliance with employment matters by successfully persuading decision makers to take appropriate actions
· Oversees the discipline/corrective action process, which involves advising and assisting supervisors/Group leaders to determine the appropriate level of discipline, composing the disciplinary document, and delivering the corrective action.
· Conducts thorough fact-finding investigations on matters involving harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and Title VII, and makes sound recommendations
· Educates, develops and mentors supervisors/Group leaders
· Actively involved in the administration of the Training Development program for Group leaders and employees. This includes presenting and developing content
· Will use HRIS/ ADP and other systems to create and analyze reports/trends to form strategies
· Participates in internal and external compensation analysis
· Facilitates the annual performance evaluation process
· Travels to all BMG sites
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’sdegree and minimum of 4 years of proven success across a full range of Human Resources disciplines including: employee relations, fact-finding investigations, performance management, full-cycle recruiting, training & development, strategy & policy development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
