RN for Stress Lab/Imaging

Buffalo Medical Group is seeking a full-time RN to work in our Cardiology Stress Lab and Imaging.

Work schedule is Monday - Friday with the earliest start time of 7:00am and the latest end time at 4:30pm.

Will see patients at our 295 Essjay location in Williamsville or Orchard Park location depending on department needs.

No on call, major holidays, weekends, or evenings.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Preliminary assessment of patients; assess vital signs, current complaints, updates in medical history, medication review, listen to breath sound, heart sounds and carotids.

· Proficient in obtaining and analyzing EKGs.

· Assess patient for appropriate test; aware of any contraindications for contrast injection, pharmacological and Exercise Cardiac Stress Tests.

· For stress testing: prepare patient, shave as necessary, apply electrodes, monitor blood pressures and assist during test. Paper work for stress tests.

· For Imaging: Assist technologist with assessing patient, positioning on table, obtaining IV access, giving contrast and/or enhancing injections, treating adverse reactions and medical history documentation.

· Attend and assist in patient codes.

· Obtain informed consent and prepare paperwork prior to procedures.

· Proficient in obtaining IV access.

· Monitor patient, patient’s heart rate and rhythm, and patient’s blood pressure before, during and after test to ensure patient’s safety.

· Follow test and medication (Lexiscan, aminophylline,etc.) protocol when ordered.

· Confirmation of appointments.

· Follow through with any arrhythmias, positive stress tests or any other life threatening events.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: AAS or BSN from accredited schoolof Nursing. Current RN New York State license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Current ACLS certification. Experience in CCU or Telemetry preferred.

Pay: $29.70 - $44.55 per hour
