What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Summer Camp Assistant position at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village?
Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village (BNHV) is seeking a personable and energetic individual to serve as a part-time, seasonal summer camp assistant for the 2024 season. This position is part-time, seasonal, and reports to the Education Manager.
Key Duties:
● To be responsible for a group of approximately 6 children, which will be assigned to you at the beginning of the camp.
● To ensure the children’s safety, manage children’s behavior, and act as a role model and mentor.
● To lead the group in camp programs and activities, such as crafts and games.
Hours and Schedule:
● July 15th – 19th 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
● July 22nd - 26th 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
● August 5th – 9th 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
● August 12th-16th 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Salary:
● $16.50 per hour.
Qualifications:
● Must be at least 18 years of age.
● Applicants should have a heart for working with groups of youth in an informal educational
setting.
● Previous experience in child care or child education (such as tutoring, summer camp work,
babysitting, working in classrooms as support for an education class, etc.) is required.
● Must be able to perform work outdoors, sometimes in adverse conditions (heat, rain).
