Compensation - $18 - $20 per hour
Community Center at Crucial:
The Buffalo Urban League Crucial Community Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals and families in our community. We offer diverse programs and services that promote education, health, recreation, cultural awareness, and social engagement. Together, we strive to create a vibrant and supportive environment that enhances all community members' well-being and quality of life.
The Program Assistant is responsible for managing after-school programming at the Crucial Center. This involves supervising program participants and providing oversight of vendors. Responsibilities will also include supplemental support for all programming activities and compliance with all safety protocols. The Program Assistant will also serve as a community resource partner supporting engagement and facilitating outreach. Additionally, the Program Assistant will support the Program Coordinator as a liaison between Buffalo Urban League and Enterprise Charter School (ECS).
Responsibilities:
• Ensure effective communication with all participants.
• Monitor programs for engagement and reporting.
• Collect data forms from participants. Verify the correctness and completeness of all materials and documents.
• Maintain participant data forms and participant attendance tracking.
• Clerical tasks, including but not limited to data input, filing reports, maintaining office supplies, and reception.
• Answer phones and doors.
• Greet vendors and participants.
• Assume responsibility for other related office duties as required by programmatic needs.
• Oversee volunteers
Qualifications
• High School Diploma and a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in youth development and programming.
• Experience working with youth between the ages of 5-18
• Excellent customer service and communication skills: interpersonal, written, and verbal
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and record-keeping
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Reader
• Leadership skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Receptive to fluctuating work schedules, including some weekends
