Our law firm is a boutique firm specializing in family law matters. We are an established and well-respected firm that provides high-quality legal services in a convenient and accessible manner. We take pride in offering high-end solutions tailored to address our clients’ individual concerns. Our growing practice is searching for a strong, experienced litigation paralegal to add to our team.
What You’ll Do
You will work closely with one of our senior-level attorneys and, on occasion, provide support to other attorneys and support staff in the firm. You’ll be responsible for a variety of substantive legal tasks with an emphasis on discovery, client coordination, and document preparation. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, disclosures, and legal correspondence.
- Preparing and reviewing discovery packages, including interrogatories and production requests; PLEASE NOTE: This is a heavy discovery position, and the ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills.
- Managing attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, and trial dates.
- Handling e-filing and e-service through Odyssey.
- Coordinating and scheduling client meetings, court appearances, mediations, and depositions.
- Assisting in trial preparation and preparing trial notebooks; some attendance at hearings and/or trials will be necessary.
- Serving as a liaison between clients and attorneys; conducting client interviews as needed.
- Maintaining organized client files and providing timely client communication.
- Supporting the attorney by anticipating needs and keeping cases moving efficiently.
About You
You’re experienced, proactive, and reliable. You thrive in fast-paced legal environments, are comfortable working independently, and value being part of a respectful, drama-free team.
You bring:
- 5 years of paralegal litigation experience, ideally in family law.
- Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- A self-starter who is proactive and willing to take initiative.
- A strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently, but also collaborate with the team.
- Comfort working with emotionally sensitive clients and high-stakes matters.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Respectfully assertive when necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Organizational strength, particularly with discovery.
- A client-first mindset and high level of professionalism.
