Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role involves engaging with children of various ages, from infants to preschoolers, to older kids and supporting their development through educational activities and play. The Childcare Provider will also communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and needs.
Duties
- Provide attentive and responsive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in areas such as social skills, language, and motor skills.
- Manage behavior by applying positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies.
- Educate children on basic concepts through play, storytelling, and interactive activities that enhance their cognitive abilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a cohesive team approach to childcare services.
- Stay informed about best practices in childhood development and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Skills
- Experience in care from 6 weeks-12 years old is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of childhood development principles, including preschool education techniques.
- Proficient in behavior management strategies to effectively guide children's behavior in a positive manner.
- Familiarity with special education practices is a plus for accommodating diverse learning needs.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred to ensure the safety of the children under care.
- Ability to create engaging classroom-like environments that foster learning through play.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Hours and schedule may vary each week
- Flexibility is a must due to varying schedule hours and placement in classroom as needed
- Must be willing to move around classroom to classroom each day.
- Must be able to run classrooms if needed
- Cleaning and food prep when needed
