JOB TITLE: Construction Mechanic/Small Tools Manager            

REPORTS TO: Equipment Manager                             
 

SUMMARY: Performs regularly scheduled maintenance of heavy construction equipment in shop and on job sites. Manages Small Tools for the Company.  Maintains safety and professionalism at all times.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair as per prioritized lists: mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenances of heavy construction equipment at shop and on job sites.
  • Manage Small Tools for job sites and projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Maintain and promote safety education and certifications.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow as assigned by Equipment Manager.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Lift and carry up to and above 50 pounds
  • Clean DMV record required
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity, sit for long periods, reach with hands/arms
  • Continually required to talk or hear in moderate to loud settings
