As a Development & Digital Communications Manager, you will play a leadership role in this transformational work, helping drive advancement efforts to support BHITC's programs and vision for our neighbors and the city.
The Development & Digital Communications Manager is part of a 6-person in-house Advancement team of professionals in communications, fundraising, volunteer management, accounting and administration, as well as contracted consultants. The role facilitates critical “behind-the-scenes” processes to maintain donor and donation data records, develop donor communications content and strategies, and provides project management for event-based fundraising. Additionally, this role collaborates with the Manager of Brand Marketing and Communications to ensure a cohesive strategic approach to storytelling, partner engagement, and brand development, with a particular focus on expanding the use of digital communications. Candidates should be experienced in digital platforms, database management, project management and team leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures excellent and consistent fundraising procedures, including collaborating with Staff Accountant on the timely receipt and acknowledgment of gifts, maintenance of donor records, lists and templates; generates reports and manages workflow processes to communicate with donors effectively.
- Oversees two special fundraising events annually, including database/event registration management, budgeting, ticket sales, auctions/raffles, facility agreements; a temporary staff role assisting with event coordination; and volunteers who support event functions.
- Manages digital communications tools and processes, including content creation across all digital platforms and channels, including social media (Facebook and Instagram) and email marketing (Constant Contact).
- Provides in-house communications support to internal ministry departments and programs, including but not limited to the production of templates, fliers, brochures, and other print/digital needs, typically produced in Canva.
- Supports the capture and creation of ongoing content, including photography and video for general use across communication channels; manages processes for garnering content from program staff.
- Develops long-form written content as requested that illustrates the organization’s impact to its constituents.
- Participates in staff meetings and organizational events.
- Serves on the Board-level Advancement Committee and staff Advancement team.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising and/or communications.
- Experienced in project management; enjoys multi-tasking.
- Experienced with special events planning and management preferred.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
- Proficient in database management, digital content creation platforms, including Canva, Constant Contact and basic video editing, as well as Microsoft Office processing.
- Ability to travel and access to a vehicle.
