Tutor for High School Students and Middle School

Building Excellence is looking for a dedicated and compassionate tutor to join our team and provide tailored academic support to students across various subjects and grade levels. The ideal candidate will have the ability to assess each student's unique learning style and adapt their teaching methods accordingly to foster a deeper understanding of the material. By creating personalized lesson plans and utilizing diverse instructional strategies, the tutor will help build students' confidence and academic skills. This position requires a passion for education, strong communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students as they work towards achieving their academic goals!

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and meet the needs of all students.
• Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Assess student performance through various methods, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding academic performance.
• Support students with special education needs by adapting teaching methods and materials accordingly.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and practices.

Skills

• Strong classroom management skills to maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting, demonstrating effective childcare techniques.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, ensuring lessons are engaging and informative.
• Ability to provide tutoring support for students needing additional assistance.
• Experience in special education is a plus, allowing for inclusive teaching practices.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience working with high school students. (Preferred)
• College Degree (Preferred)
• Current background clearance and fingerprinting required.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
