What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Building Material Distributors, Inc.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, verify accuracy, and perform 3-way match with purchase orders and receipts.
- Maintain accurate records of payables in accounting software.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Process vendor payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper coding and approval of expenses.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts payable activities.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues or inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Maintain organized and complete documentation for all accounts payable transactions and vendor files.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency with Accounts Payable software and ERP Systems (ASW, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Similar).
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a high level of accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent
