The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, nurturing strong customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities in the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, results-driven, and passionate about the building materials industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent and sell BPI’s full line of building products within the assigned territory.
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts, including lumber dealers, co-ops, and distribution partners.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their needs and offering effective solutions.
- Respond quickly to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and follow up thoroughly.
- Collaborate with the management team and inside sales staff to provide tailored products and pricing strategies.
- Educate customers on new and existing products to support their business growth.
- Gather market intelligence on competitors’ pricing, products, and strategies.
- Travel required approximately 50-70% of the time within the territory.
- Proven success in sales; experience in the building materials industry is preferred.
- Passion for sales with a positive, outgoing, and customer-first attitude.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient with technology; solid math skills and experience using sales-related software.
- 3–5 years of relevant sales experience is preferred.
