BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair work on District facilities, grounds, building facilities, and equipment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. E = Essential Functions
- Assist buildings and grounds personnel in the daily activities of the department and special projects. E
- Assist buildings and grounds trades in the repair or renovation of District buildings, facilities, and equipment. E
- Load and unload supplies; lift and move heavy objects; lift and carry stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, lumber, and other materials as directed. E
- Load and unload school and construction equipment such as scaffolding, portable stages, machinery, and furniture. E
- Drive a District vehicle to transport trash, dirt, building supplies, materials, and equipment. E
- Assist in anchoring and securing computers, monitors, copiers, microwave ovens, refrigerators, other equipment, and machinery as required. E
- Assist in the repair of cafeteria tables, benches, service carts, and other related equipment. E
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools and equipment. E
- Clean culverts, drains, and ditches and remove undergrowth. E
- Assist in swimming pool maintenance, as directed. E
- Change heating, ventilation, and air conditioner (HVAC) filters. E
- Work with all District employees, architecture and engineering employees, and outside contractors. E
- Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years experience in general construction, maintenance and repair work.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Driver’s License
Employment eligibility will include fingerprints, tuberculosis and/or other employment clearance
