Compensation will be commensurate with knowledge and experience.

Company Description: BuildLabs formerly, a high-end custom-building company is looking for a senior Accountant to add to their team.

Responsibilities

• The Controller is responsible for managing the Accounting Department, providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future. Directs and manages company fiscal records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and current IT trends and regulations, respectively.

Essential Functions:

Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, the consolidation of and distribution of internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets.

Provides strategic financial leadership and support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, investments and/or other issues affecting the business.

Works to optimize the handling of bank relationships and initiates needed strategies for improvement.

Builds, develops and manages accounting team capable of carrying out needed initiatives.

Stays abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the accounting and information technology functions.

Aligns financial policies and procedures with company objectives.

Establishes financial reporting systems and controls to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements and to meet customer needs.

Recommends and develops policies, procedures and systems, in conjunction with the various operating groups within the company to meet company objectives.

Oversee the activities of the disbursement and accounts receivable departments.

Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.

Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data and enhance the company's value.

Assist the company on a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports, such as acquisition integrations and information technology enhancements.

Oversee financial audits in the US, Germany & India

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in progressing Accounting and Financial roles with 5 years of managerial experience.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
• Knowledge of QuickBooks necessary
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

***Annual salary will be determined based on education and experience. This is a full time year round position.
