Job Title: Controller
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial management, and a commitment to driving accuracy and efficiency across the accounting department. This position will play a key role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and contributing to strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the proper completion of financial transactions.
- Oversee the accounting department's operations, including designing an effective organizational structure and implementing best practices.
- Hire, train, and mentor staff to meet the department's needs and foster professional growth.
- Ensure the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Continuously review and monitor costs and expenses for efficiency and savings opportunities.
- Manage and forecast cash flow to support business operations.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports with supporting documentation to Corporate Accounting.
- Analyze variances from budget and report significant findings to management.
- Develop and manage the annual corporate budget, as well as quarterly forecasts, in alignment with corporate timelines.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for Corporate Treasury.
- Provide financial reports for key customers, including monthly reports, annual budgets, and quarterly price reviews as needed.
- Design and issue financial and operational metric reports to track business performance.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Provide external auditors with the necessary information for the annual audit process.
- Assist Corporate Tax Department by preparing supporting data for annual corporate income tax returns.
- Process quarterly corporate tax payments in accordance with Corporate Tax Department guidelines.
- Oversee employee benefit plans with a focus on ERISA compliance and cost-effective plan management, including regulatory filings.
- Manage filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and reports, including sales tax, highway use tax, 1099's, and unclaimed property reports.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, including debt agreements, customer, and supplier contracts.
Leadership & Strategic Support:
- Actively contribute to key decisions as a member of the Executive Management Team.
- Engage in monthly and quarterly customer review meetings.
- Provide financial analyses in areas such as capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Offer financial support and guidance to all departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required).
- Master's Degree and/or CPA certification (preferred).
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Proven leadership ability to manage and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Manufacturing / Production experience is a must.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
