We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Framer to join our team. You will be a W9 Contractor for us.
Framing Responsibilities:
- Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, metal and other building materials.
- Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, and bolts.
- Erecting temporary structures such as scaffolds and hoists.
- Performing repairs on existing framework structures that are damaged or structurally unsound.
- Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste.
- Reading and understanding blueprints.
- Preparing, configuring, and assembling the required tools, including ladders, measuring tapes, hammer drill machines and straightedges .
- Marking and cutting the metal studs based on the blueprints.
- Drawing chalk lines on metal frames to level them up.
- Complying with relevant regulatory practices related construction projects and safety requirements .
- Assembling metal stud framing.
- Carrying construction materials and metal stud frames from one place to another within the construction site and assisting forklift operators with the transportation process.
- Installing metal stud framing.
- Inspecting completed work and verifying it with the design and blueprint.
- Attaching metal frames with preconfigured horizontal and vertical wallboards.
- Preparing small openings into the metal frames with drilling tools to make space for electric lines and outlets.
- Using different fastening tools, such as screws, nails, studs, and connectors.
- Reporting everyday progress to the construction supervisors.
- Inspecting the quality of the procured metal stud frames if needed.
Framing Carpenter Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Physical strength and stamina.
- The ability to interpret blueprints.
- The ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
This job is 90% travel. We are in Katy Tx but cover all of Texas so this will be a lot of traveling.
$25 food allowance when out of town and hotel covered.
Need to speak English or spanish. Bilingual prefered.
We provide all tools and transportation.
Would also like someone who can do sheetrock, tape, float and paint to finish.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $29.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
