Job Summary:
As a Math Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum that meets the needs of students in preparation for their future careers.
Key Responsibilities: Math
- Develop and implement a competency-based math curriculum that prepares students for the workforce, including the use of technology and real-world applications.
- Teach and instruct students in essential areas of mathematics including algebra, geometry, financial mathematics, construction math.
- Incorporate Project-Based Learning and STEM-based methods that allow students to test, practice and master essential math competencies as well as utilize soft skills.
- Evaluate student progress and provide regular feedback to students and their families.
- Create culturally relevant lessons that allow students of all backgrounds to better identify and engage the subject matter.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure that students are receiving a well-rounded education and the school is meeting academic goals.
- Utilize the school adopted curriculum as an academic standard and guide.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in math education.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in math or education (master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching math in a high school setting
- Experience with workforce development or career readiness programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administrators
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to teach, support and communicate with students and families living in an urban environment
