Job Overview
The Forge operator handles the setup, operation, or tend presses and forging machines to perform hot or cold forging by flattening, straightening, bending, cutting, piercing, or other operations to taper, shape, or form metal.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team to assemble the entire products or components.
- Rotate through tasks for specific production process.
- Conduct quality inspections on production and parts.
- Prepare finished products for shipment.
- Use tongs and measuring devices
- Run hammers and upsetters
- Polish dies
- Obtain certification to drive a lift truck
- Work in other departments
