Position Summary
We have an immediate opening for an Accounting Assistant role. The candidate is responsible for general accounting functions to assist the CFO in all day-to-day operations. This includes, but is not limited to data entry into accounting and inventory management software, posting of journal entries, administrative duties involving the development and maintenance of the accounting processes and internal controls.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, other employees and customers. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful working situations. The ability to anticipate the needs of your superiors before they ask for them is an advantage.
Job Duties
- Update daily sales report template.
- Update cash flow daily.
- Process accounts receivable and payable reports weekly.
- Make and receive payments through bank and credit card processor.
- Daily fraud check processing for ecommerce sales.
- Inventory reconciliation by cost and items on invoice.
- Keep banking transactions up to date in Quickbooks.
- Process monthly reports and journal entries.
- Process inter-company journal entries.
- Process unsettled transactions through credit card portal.
Job Knowledge & Skills

- Business Degree with Accounting or Finance.
- Shows an aptitude for attention to detail in spotting errors. Is able to easily grasp, utilize and communicate financial mathematics concepts. Good knowledge of accounting practices.
- Ability to follow company policies while working independently and on a team.
- Demonstrates ability to solve more complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job.
- Must be able to recognize anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately in a timely manner.
- Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of domestic/international customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues of moderate complexity.
- Ability to proactively assess and resolve problems.
- Able to apply functional computer knowledge in utilizing spreadsheets, word processing, QuickBooks and other tools in completing assignments. Advanced proficiency with Excel is an advantage.
- Requires good communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with potentially stressful situations.
Required
- Quickbooks- 2 years of experience
- Fishbowl- preferred
- Accounting, office, or finance background 2 years
