Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager, under limited supervision, manages smaller projects through all aspects including, estimating, coordination of cost control, scheduling, reporting and document control activities. Assist in supporting positive client relations. Position may be in the office or field and travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Supports day to day activities for a project.
- Participates with the estimating efforts for a potential project. Administer and execute gradebeam set up. Attends walk through as B&A representative.
- Contract awards and scope reviews. Collaborates with SPM, PX’s for major awards.
- Responsible for and collaborating with PM with the RFI and submittal processes.
- Administers the change management process in collaboration with PM or SPM.
- Participates in subcontractor pre-construction meetings.
- Runs or participates in OAC meetings and provides meeting minutes.
- Supports, implements and tracks overall project schedule.
- Reports to PM and SPM regarding major issues relating to schedule, changes, field quality control.
- Establishes protocol and monitors all subcontractor communication.
- Supports all project start up processes.
- Sets up process for online project management software (CMIC).
- Works hand in hand with project superintendent for all field related issues.
- Assists with the payment application process and pencil draw review meetings with client.
- Is responsible for all project document management and controls.
- Ensures all updated document changes/updates are distributed to project team.
- Works hand in hand with SPM and PM to track the permitting process.
- Participates and tracks the BIM process.
- Oversees the close out documents process (O&M Manuals).
- Manages and ensures the punch list is properly completed.
- Pursues LEED certification.
- Oversees or prepares all documentation as required for LEED certified projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of experience or equivalent. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Must be adaptable, take initiative and be results oriented. Certification preferred.
