The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Audience Development Specialist to join CoinDesk, the most influential media company in the crypto space. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and expanding our newsletter portfolio, driving subscriber growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging content to our audience. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the crypto and blockchain industry, coupled with expertise in newsletter strategy, content creation, and audience engagement.

This role is based in NYC and will be required to work from our office located near Union Square a minimum of 3 days per week. 

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement comprehensive newsletter strategies aligned with our overall content and business objectives

• Create and optimize newsletter templates and content approaches, ensuring brand consistency and maximizing engagement

• Participate in editing newsletter content for clarity and consistency

• Conduct various tests on formats, subject lines, promo modules to inform new strategies to engage and grow our audiences and increase open rates.

• Monitor & Analyze key performance metrics and user engagement data (such as email deliverability,  open rates, click through-rates, conversions and ROI), to continually improve newsletter content and strategy

• Identifying opportunities for email optimization and implementing A/B testing to analyze performance metrics to optimize campaign effectiveness and engagement rates.

• Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to develop and execute subscriber acquisition and retention campaigns

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in crypto, blockchain, and Web3 to ensure our newsletters remain relevant and valuable to our audience

• Work closely with other content teams (editorial, video, social media) to ensure cohesive messaging and cross-promotion of content

• Identify opportunities for new newsletter products and oversee their development and launch including subscription initiatives 

• Manage relationships with email service providers and other relevant technology partners

• Ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices

What You Have:

• 3 years of experience in newsletter management, preferably in the crypto, blockchain, or financial media space

• Proven track record of growing newsletter subscriber bases and improving engagement metrics

• Strong understanding of email marketing technologies, automation tools, and analytics platforms. Experience with 3rd party tools like Sailthru, Hubspot, etc preferred.

• Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to distill complex crypto concepts into engaging, easy-to-understand content

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an analytical mindset to interpret data and derive actionable insights.

• Experience in news journalism or related industry  

• Knowledge of the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, including current trends, key players, and regulatory landscape

• Knowledge of setting up and running a successful newsletter referral program

• Familiarity with email marketing regulations and best practices

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field recommended

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Experience with A/B testing and data-driven content optimization

Bullish US LLC & CoinDesk Inc. are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 discretionary annual target bonus performance incentives/benefits. Offered salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience.
