Instructional Assistant (2025-2026) - Bullitt Alternative Center

This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.

We are looking for an instructional assistant that can work with certified teachers to do the following: Provide instruction individually or in small groups, help monitor behaviors with the teacher, work with all staff collaboratively to ensure student progress, and collect data to discuss student progress.

The position is 6.5 hours per day with 185 days per year. 

170 student instructional days, 4 paid holidays, 4 extended days and 7 Bullitt/planning days

Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.

• Must have 48 semester hours, an Associates Degree or have a high school diploma or equivalent and have passed the paraeducator exam and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE:  It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

Salary based on Board approved salary schedule for the 2025-2026 school year. 

24-25 payscale 

Step 0:  $15.59

Step 10:  $19.19

Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks.  This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule.  4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
