POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As our Carrier Network Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the success and growth of our national box truck network. In this pivotal role, you’ll identify, onboard, and cultivate relationships with carrier partners who are essential to delivering outstanding service across our business. By taking a proactive, strategic approach to network management, you’ll not only ensure high performance but also shape an expansive, reliable partner ecosystem that meets the needs of both new and long-standing customers.

Your efforts will directly impact the scalability and efficiency of our delivery operations, supporting business growth and enhancing customer satisfaction nationwide. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Carrier Network Expansion and Onboarding

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new carrier partners to expand the box truck network nationally.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with carriers to ensure favorable terms and long-term partnerships.

Performance Management and Optimization

  • Track and analyze carrier performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery rates, capacity utilization, cost-effectiveness) to ensure high-quality service.
  • Implement improvement plans for underperforming carriers and recognize top performers.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for carrier partners, managing day-to-day communication and addressing any issues or inquiries.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with carrier partners to ensure mutual success and alignment with business goals.

Strategic Planning and Forecasting

  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast delivery demand and plan carrier capacity requirements.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the reliability and scalability of the box truck network to support new and existing partners.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Continuously seek ways to optimize operational processes, reduce costs, and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and develop scalable solutions for the carrier network.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure that all carrier partners meet regulatory and safety standards, as well as company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to carrier partnerships, including service disruptions and compliance issues.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work closely with the Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to align carrier capabilities with business needs.
  • Support sales initiatives by ensuring the carrier network can meet delivery expectations for new and existing clients.

These responsibilities are critical for building and maintaining a robust carrier network, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting the company's growth objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 7 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain management, or a related field, with a focus on managing carrier relationships or vendor networks.
  • Experience working with different types of carriers (e.g.,local, regional, national) and a strong understanding of logistics networks.
  • Proven experience in identifying, negotiating with, and managing third-party partners, ideally within the logistics or transportation sector.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, including the ability to manage complex relationships and communicate effectively with partners at various levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery rates, cost-per-mile) and use data-driven insights to make strategic decisions.
  • Experience implementing performance improvement initiatives, including working with partners to meet and exceed operational targets.
  • Experience in process improvement and optimization.
  • Familiarity with logistics technology platforms (e.g., TMS, WMS) and experience using data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau) to streamline processes and track KPIs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to transportation and logistics, such as safety standards, legal regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of market trends in logistics and transportation, particularly in the box truck or final mile delivery space, is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of collaborating effectively with internal teams (e.g., Sales, Operations) and external partners.
  • Ability to manage challenging situations diplomatically and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience is acceptable.

This experience will help candidates effectively oversee the carrier network, optimize operations, and drive strategic growth for the company.
