OPENING DETAILS:
- Monday-Friday, 5.5 hours per day (.6875 FTE)
- Work hours: 8:30 am-2:30 pm (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
LOCATION: Washington Elementary
SALARY RANGE: 55
Under general supervision of an assigned supervisor, facilitates communication between hearing and deaf and hard of hearing students, district staff and the public by providing manual and/or oral interpreting services and providing other assistance to the instructional program in the classroom. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate Arts Degree from an Interpreter Training Program or a degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in education of the deaf and hard of hearing or educational interpreting. Experience in education interpreting preferred. Other equivalent combinations of directly related training and experience of acceptable level and quality may be considered.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Verification of a score of 4.0 or higher on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) or verification of a score of 4.7 or higher on the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation (ESSE).
