What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraeducator - Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Itinerant) position at Burbank Unified?
OPENING DETAILS:
Monday - Friday, 6.5 hours per day
Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (includes half hour unpaid lunch)
Salary Range: 39
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of an assigned supervisor and direction of a certificated teacher or specialist, uses manual communication (sign language) in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of general education students and/or students with special needs in a variety of learning environments; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; may assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEP); perform a variety of clerical duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or high school equivalency, one year experience working with school age children in an organized setting, and one year of college level training, or paid or unpaid experience working with people, preferably children, who communicate with manual communication (sign language).
