What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintainer-BUREAU COUNTY position at BUREAU COUNTY?
POSITION SUMMARY: Maintain highways, municipal and rural roads, and rights-of-way. Duties include patching broken or eroded pavement, repairing guard rails, highway markers, and snow fences. May also mow or clear brush from along the road or plow snow from roadway.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Bureau County Highway Department is accepting applications for a full-time regular Highway Maintainer. Preferred applicants will have manual labor experience, truck driving skills, experience operating maintenance equipment including but not limited to: end loader, motor grader, dump truck, low boy semi trailer. Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED. Requires a valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Hours are typically 40 per week with overtime as required. Applicants must preferably live in or near Bureau County.
