Job Description
Summary: Explore a new career with the BLM - where our people are our most precious resource. We expect to fill many vacancies. This is a temporary appointment. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status and will be for a period not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Natural Resource Specialists (NRS's) in addressing backlog of final abandonment inspections and general environmental surface inspections.
- Prepare maps of well locations using the Public Land Survey System and global positioning coordinates to navigate to remote well sites.
- Document field findings through written documentation and digital photography.
- Document field findings in databases.
- Coordination with oil and gas operators for corrective actions identified as a result of the inspections.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
General Experience: Work that demonstrates your ability to perform the work of the position to be filled, or experience that provided a familiarity with the subject matter or processes of the broad subject area of the occupation.
Education: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of physical science, or a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation.
